The neighborhood of Innis Arden is located along the shores of Puget Sound, and is part of the city of Shoreline. A small neighborhood, only slightly more than 1,000 people call this section of the greater Seattle area home. While homes here aren’t nearly as expensive as within the gated Highlands community to the south, they do still often sell at a premium as compared to properties throughout the rest of Shoreline. Despite the peaceful setting near the shore of the Sound, Innis Arden is still only a short drive from I-5.
For potential real estate buyers looking at properties in Innis Arden, the main hurdle is going to be simply finding properties to pick from. It is difficult to establish an ‘average’ for home prices within this neighborhood, simply because sales are relatively rare. While the overall median of just under $400,000 for the whole of Shoreline is a good starting point, prices can vary significantly from that point depending on the specific property in question. Watching the MLS listings closely will be required for anyone wanting to live in this area.
If there is one notable thing about Innis Arden that rises above the rest, it is certainly the views. The neighborhood has been designed intentionally – with restrictions in place – to protect the views of as many landowners as possible. Looking out across Puget Sound to the stunning Olympic Mountains on a clear day is one of the most impressive views that can be enjoyed from anywhere around the Seattle area.
A real estate buyer who is in a hurry to purchase a home might need to consider a wider search than just Innis Arden, simply because the inventory is so low most of the time. However, if a property does happen to come available at the right time for the right price, it is an opportunity that a shopper just might not be able to pass up.
