Queen Anne is not only one of the largest neighborhoods in Seattle in terms of size and population, it is also one of the most attractive places to live in the city. With plenty of large, luxury properties to consider and a great location that offers both views and proximity to the rest of the city, it is not a surprise that Queen Anne Hill is regularly near the top of many Seattle real estate buyer’s wish list. If you wish to live in Seattle and you want to own a piece of the great history that the city has to offer, Queen Anne is perhaps the best place to start your search.
The Queen Anne neighborhood, and the hill that it sits on, is found to the west of Lake Union, just slightly north of the downtown area of Seattle. The Interbay neighborhood is to the west of Queen Anne, while the Ship Canal forms the border to the north and Belltown is found to the south.
Thanks to the sheer size of this part of Seattle, there is a wonderful selection of real estate to choose from for those in search of a luxury Seattle property. Many of the homes listed within Queen Anne will sell for $2 million and beyond, with some rising up near eight figures based on their size and historical standing. As Queen Anne was one of the earliest settlements in the city, there are plenty of homes in this neighborhood that date back close to 100 years – and some even farther than that. You won’t find much in the way of ‘cookie cutter’ homes in this part of Seattle. Rather, you will see beautiful architecture, great landscaping, and wonderful pride of ownership.
Beyond the properties that are available, Queen Anne has plenty more to offer including educational opportunities, some 25 parks to enjoy, and even a local farmer’s market that runs throughout the spring and summer months. As a testament to the prestige of this community, a partial list of current or past residents includes former Governor of Washington Gary Locke, early Seattle developer George Kinnear, U.S. House Representative Rick White, and many more. It is safe to say that you will be among great company when you decide to call Queen Anne home.
