It is hard to imagine a neighborhood could feel ‘isolated’ within a city as large as Seattle, but that is very much the case in Magnolia – and most of the residents would have it no other way. If you are looking for luxury property in Seattle, but you would like to avoid some of the ‘hustle and bustle’ that is so commonly associated with city living, you should take a close look at Magnolia. With beautiful views of Puget Sound and wonderful open space at Discovery Park, it is easy to see why this large neighborhood has such a dedicated population.
Magnolia is found to the west of Interbay, which places it to the northwest of downtown Seattle. The railway tracks running through Interbay manage to separate Magnolia from the rest of the city, as there are only a few roads that pass over the tracks in order to access this quiet neighborhood.
Luxury real estate is not hard to come by in Magnolia, provided you can write a large enough check to meet with the significant asking prices of homes in this community. There are a number of properties in the $1 - $2 million range, with many more going north from there into the $5 million range. As you might expect, there are many older homes in Magnolia, which is part of the draw for many who live in the area. It is common to see homes that were build nearly 100 years ago, and many of the properties offer 4,000 – 6,00 square feet of living space.
The afore mentioned Discovery Park is another big draw to this neighborhood, as such as a large public land is not common in a big city like Seattle. There are a number of different species of wildlife that can frequently been seen in the park, and the draw of the beauty of Puget Sound is always present as well.
If you have the kind of budget that allows for luxury real estate shopping in Seattle, you will want to at least consider the attractive Magnolia community and everything that it has to offer. With a largely residential feel and a small commercial district, life in Magnolia frequently feels as though it is moving at a slightly slower pace than the rest of the city. Good luck in your search for that perfect property!
