New Construction Homes in King and Snohomish CountyNew Construction

The King and Snohomish County areas are growing faster than just about any other county in the nation. More and more people are moving to the area based on job growth, beauty, and affordability. Plus, we are still trying to catch up from the recession and this has led to a scramble to build as many new homes as fast as possible. We are expanding in places like Redmond, Woodinville, Snohomish, and Sammamish with luxury properties, larger floor plans, and private, gated lots.

The Pacific Northwest is home to plenty track home builders as well as custom builders like HiLine Homes, The Cottage Company, and Adair, but national home builders are also making a splash in Seattle and surrounding cities.

D.R. Horton, Polygon, Conner, Toll Brothers, and Lungren Homes are popular in places like Ravensdale, Auburn, and Bothell with new construction homes starting around $500,000. The farther you go from Seattle and Bellevue the more affordable the homes will become unless we're talking straight east from Seattle in places like Issaquah, Redmond, and Sammamish.  The lowest priced homes on the far Eastside are starting about $650,000.

What to Look for in a New Construction Company

If you're planning on buying in a developing subdivision you'll want to do a little research, not just on the house, but the builder and the location. Here are some things to check out.

  • Get a great agent that knows new construction
  • Find the neighborhood you want
  • Look at the school system and what schools you'll be assigned to
  • Get everything in writing
  • Ask about warranties and guarantees.
  • What is covered for the first year
  • Do you like their general layouts
  • Do  you like the materials they use
  • Do you like what the community offers you, your family and kids

These are just some things to consider when finding the right builder but when looking at the home, in general, you must consider:

  • Location
  • Totally custom or pre-custom and built? (How custom do you want the home?)
  • Commute and distance to schools, work, etc..
  • Landscaped backyard or zero lot line?
  • Never neglect the final walk-through - new homes need inspections too.
