Blue Ridge is a scenic neighborhood within the city of Seattle, found to the north of downtown on the shores of Puget Sound. This small community is adjacent to Carkeek Park, and only a short drive from locations such as the University of Washington and Green Lake. Those who appreciate the natural beauty that the Pacific Northwest has to offer, but still want to be close in to the city itself, will find much to like about Blue Ridge.
As one might suspect, real estate within the Blue Ridge neighborhood does not come cheaply. The median home value within the area is well beyond $700,000, and homes commonly sell for more than $1 million. The vast majority of the neighborhood is composed of single family homes, some with views of the Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains to the west. Interested buyers who wish to live in the neighborhood will be wise to act fast, as very few properties come onto the market.
In addition to the above mentioned Carkeek Park, there are plenty of other local attractions a short distance from Blue Ridge. Golden Gardens Park is also located along the Puget Sound, and is just a short distance to the south. The exciting neighborhoods of Fremont and Ballard are also nearby, both of which offer plenty of things to do and see. On the other side of the Ship Canal is Discovery Park and the Interbay Golf Center.
For a real estate buyer hoping to live within the city of Seattle but not right in the downtown section, Blue Ridge represents a great option. With single family homes and plenty of scenery nearby, this is a popular neighborhood for those with children, or for buyers who simply like to have a little more room than some of the other Seattle communities have to offer.
